White Spot rolls out vegan Beyond Burger to BC and Alberta

Canadian chain restaurant White Spot has rolled out the coveted vegan Beyond Burger to locations across British Columbia and Alberta.

The plant-based patty will appear on the Avocado Beyond Burger, which is vegan with modifications, and should appeal to the millennials because avocado. That said, those who’ve not been hit with avo-induced mania will be happy to know you can sub any meat patty for the new plant-based option.

The pickle-topped creation also features roasted corn, iceberg lettuce, tomato and pickled onion. Ingredients like jalepeño ranch and coleslaw, however, should be left off the plate of those adhering to an animal-friendly vegan regime.

While the roll-out is effective as of this week, the burger will not appear on White Spot-partnered menus on BC Ferries — so you’re going to have to find another way not to be struck with malnourishment and protein deficiency on your next nautical adventure.

(We’re kidding — you’ll be fine. Probably.)
