Vegan presidential candidate Cory Booker talks politics and romance on The Ellen Show

Vegan Senator and presidential candidate Cory Booker appeared on The Ellen Show this week to talk about politics and his recently revealed relationship with Rosario Dawson.

The politician was characteristically cheery and warm during his chat with talkshow host Ellen Degeneres. Booker spread a message of unity, positivity and compassion — exactly the sort of stuff one might expect from a vegan. Well, one of the nice ones, anyway.

“People make this mistake where they confuse being strong with being mean, or being tough with being cruel,” he said.

Later, he added: “Patriotism is love of country, but you cannot love your country, unless you love your fellow countrymen and women.”

Knowing full well that at least one of you is here for the scoop on the Booker and famed actor Rosario Dawson romance, we might as well get into it. Suffice it to say, the Senator provided a ringing endorsement of the woman he was recently revealed to be dating.

“I’m very, very blessed to be with somebody that makes me a better person,” he said.

Here’s hoping for a plant-powered president coming to The White House in 2020 — and putting us one step closer to that total global domination we’ve been after.
