Vegan Banana Bread most searched Trader Joe’s item in two US states
Vegan Banana Bread is the most searched for Trader Joe’s item in two US states, according to a new report from WorkWise.
An analysis of Google activity revealed that Vegan Banana Bread was number one in both Colorado and Oregon — the latter of which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s visited Oregon or seen even a single episode of Portlandia. Just saying.
The Trader Joe’s website describes its Vegan Banana Bread With Walnuts as “a perfectly sweet and soft-textured banana bread, achieved without the use of dairy or eggs (or, of course, any other animal products)”.

Judging by the above, it’s safe to say the chain has a better grasp of veganism than roughly six in 10 non-vegan relatives. Okay, that’s a totally made-up statistic — but you know the conversations we’re talking about.
“Is fish vegan?”
“No, Grandpa. Fish are animals.”
“How about eggs?!”
“No, Aunt Peggy. Eggs come from the same place as chickens’ urine and fecal matter.”
“Well, that’s not nice dinner-table talk.”
“Sorry, Grandma.”
Meal-time politics aside, those interested in trying the vegan product can find it at Trader Joe’s stores nationwide. A 16-ounce loaf retails for around $3.99.
