Taco Bell UK launches vegan meat alternative

Yvonne O'Halloran

American fast-food chain Taco Bell has announced that from January 7th, UK customers will be able to enjoy a plant-based meat alternate which is perfect for filling tacos, burritos and Crunchwraps.

All 53 Taco Bell restaurants in the UK will be using Gold&Green’s Pulled Oats to recreate the texture of meat and absorb the iconic Mexican flavours that Taco Bell is famous for.

Made with a blend of oats and legumes, the new plant-based menu addition comes just in time for Veganuary as more and more people are choosing vegan options this month.

Better still, the meat alternative is high in protein and rich in iron and fibre, making it a healthier choice when treating yourself to a takeaway.

Lucy Dee, Taco Bell UK Marketing Lead, told Vegan Food & Living said in a statement that Taco Bell prides itself “on being a place where every lifestyle can find exactly what they’re craving.”

“We can’t wait to launch the new plant-based protein across all of our UK restaurants and offer our customers the choice to go meat-free for January and beyond,”
