Superstore launches own-brand vegan cheesecake
Canadians, rejoice! Superstore has debuted an own-brand vegan cheesecake.
Officially named the Original Cheesecake-Style Dessert, the dairy-free offering is part of the chain’s President’s Choice line of products — an unusual brand name given that Canada doesn’t have a president, and it’s probably safe to assume Trump had nothing to do with this. But whatever.

While the $7 (CAD) dessert is made using ingredients like water, oat, sugar, lima beans and coconut oil, do be advised that it also contains palm oil, a contentious ingredient within the vegan sphere. If that or packaging are a concern, you may want to try Daiya’s Cheezecake, or make your own vegan cheesecake instead.
Here’s a raw, cashew-based recipe from hit vegan chef Gas Oakley. Try not to eat it all in one sitting.
