Sandwich chain Subway has pleased customers with its latest plant-based offering of a vegan double chocolate chip cookie.

The online organisation Vegan Food UK recently shared an Instagram post which featured a photo of the new treat much to the delight of its followers.

One excited user stated: “Oh my goodness I’m so happy about this”

Another commented: “Yes! That’s fantastic news”

The cookies are available from selected stores in the UK and retail at 59p each or three for £1.20.

This is the latest addition to the growing plant-based menu at Subway, following the success of the Vegan Meatball Marinara Sub earlier in the year.

The sandwich was so popular that it won the award for the best vegan sandwich at PETA’s 2020 Vegan Food Awards so fans are hopeful the dessert will prove just as delicious.
