Singer Lenny Kravitz announces he is vegan

Veganism finds another ally in the music world, as music icon Lenny Kravitz recently revealed in an interview with Men’s Health that he is vegan and has been maintaining a plant-based lifestyle since 2016.

For the past six months, the singer has lived in the Bahamas in an Airstream trailer. There, he grows his own food, consuming a vegan and primarily raw diet. Kravitz revealed that he has his own garden and frequently works out in nature.

“A great blessing of living here in the Bahamas is that I get to grow my own food,” Kravitz said. “So I have a garden where most of this food comes from. As you can see, I’m vegan and primarily raw.”

The rockstar’s veganism is part of his plan to keep in great shape. The 56-year old shared, “My best shape is not behind me. It’s in front of me right now. We keep moving that bar as we get older.” As a result, he is “very careful about what I put into my body and how I take care of my body.”

Part of his healthy lifestyle includes keeping his home stocked with vegetables, such as kale, broccoli, and cucumbers, in addition to having garden-fresh fruit on hand.
