Severe abuse of alpacas revealed at Peruvian wool farm

Video footage has been exposed by PETA revealing the severe abuse alpacas endure at a wool farm in Peru. Mallkini is the world’s largest privately owned alpaca farm. it is the largest exporter of alpaca tops and yarn & owned by the Mitchell Group.

The undercover investigation found that workers handled the animals by tying them down, pulling them up from the floor by their tails and slamming them to the floor (even pregnant alpacas). Their legs were pulled on a device so hard they could have come out of their sockets. The alpacas- clearly distraught and in a great deal of pain, are seen to be crying, spiting and vomiting during the horrific ordeal.

Many ended up with injuries such as bloody limbs, severed eyelids, and injured mouths. Due to investigations such as these, many companies (like Gap Inc. & H&M) have cut ties with Mitchell.
