Secret investigation uncovers horrific abuse on dairy farms across the UK`
Vegan activist Earthling Ed (also known as Ed Winters) has just released footage from his animal-rights group called Surge. The footage was recorded during an 18-month undercover investigation and shows the terrible abuse endured by dairy cows across the UK. The captured footage was obtained using hidden cameras and shows cows and calves who were beaten, punched, kicked and prodded. Furthermore it shows baby calves taken from their mothers and thrown into tractors, distressed calves force fed and even calves shot in the head when they are deemed as no use to the dairy industry (and left to rot).
Winters says “The dairy industry is painted as a wholesome industry where the animals are treated with care and compassion. However the footage that we acquired tells a very different story to the one the industry tells us.”
The footage is part of Surge’s larger ‘Dismantle Dairy’ campaign that aims to expose the violent nature of the dairy industry as a whole, not just a single mismanaged farm. “Death can be found everywhere on dairy farms,” Winters said. “What we see in this footage does not represent isolated cases or bad apples. This footage represents the systemic and ubiquitous nature of the violence that takes place on animal farms. Dairy products come from violence but we have the power to make it stop. Please leave dairy off your plate.”
Earthling Ed is planning on releasing more footage from his Dismantle Dairy campaign in the near future.
