Proposed Bills aim to end fur trade in state of California

Two Bills have been proposed in California which would effectively end the fur trade statewide.

The Bills, AB 273 and AB 44, would respectively outlaw the trapping and hunting of “fur bearing nongame” mammals, and prohibit the sale, production and exchange of new fur products.

On Tuesday, March 12 the California Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife will meet to consider the proposed changes which, according to nonprofit conservation organization Project Coyote “would end the cruel and senseless fur trade in California”.

If you’re in the state of California and would like to urge the committee to vote yes on the Bill, contact info has been provided by Project Coyote here.

The not-so-fabulously rich can find something else to wear. Cruella de Vile’s look is so last century.
