Pret A Manger opens vegan bakery counters in all Veggie Pret stores

With the success of the meat-free veggie Pret stores, the international sandwich chain has expanded their plant-based offerings.

The vegan bakeries will be available in all 10 veggie Pret’s, with 9 being in London and one just outside of the capital in Manchester.

Due to increased demand, their non-vegan products have now been replaced by 8 new completely vegan treats. Their ‘veganized’ counters will serve only plant-based bakery items such as brownies, muffins, cookies and four types of croissant.

They previously only offered the Very Berry Croissant and the Dark Chocolate and Almond Butter Cookie as their vegan options.

In a statement given to Vegan Food & Living, Claire Clough, the UK MD of Pret said:

“We’re really proud to be the first high street food-to-go retailer to launch a unique concept like this. Expanding Veggie Pret’s offering for our vegan customers has been a huge focus of our food development over the last year and moving to an entire vegan bakery is very much the result of that.”

The full range is available to buy now in store and via delivery through Uber eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo.
