Mike Tyson credits the vegan lifestyle and his love of training for getting into the ‘best shape’ of his life

Former world champion Mike Tyson was 27 stone back in 2009 but in the past decade has made a drastic transformation. Tyson said that he has maintained a decent shape for the past 10 years, but the past few months he has toned and refined his shape even more and claims he is in the best shape of his life.

The 53-year-old revealed that he plans to fight in an exhibition and is training ahead of a potential comeback.

Tyson went meat and dairy free in back in 2010, insisting he was “so congested from all the drugs and bad cocaine, I could hardly breathe, [I had] high blood pressure, [was] almost dying [and had arthritis],” and that it felt like a good idea to go vegan. He has said at 53, he feels he is in the best shape of his life due to his plant-based [Vegan] diet and his training regime.

Tyson said of his diet in the past: “I don’t eat anything that has a mother and father.

During the peak of his career, Tyson weighed around 220 lbs. In 2009, he was 380 lbs. At 27 stone and 5 foot 10, he was clinically obese. Tyson worked hard for a year to shift the pounds and has been maintaining a healthy lifestyle since. The 27-stone frame he once was back in 2009 is a far-cry from the lean machine that Tyson is again today.
