Madelaine Petsch chooses intuitive vegan eating over dieting
Madelaine Petsch, the vegan star best known for her role as Cheryl Blossom on hit Netflix series Riverdale, says she forgoes dieting and prefers intuitive eating to stay healthy.
Sitting down with Life & Style Weekly, the actor was quick to dodge “scary” diet terminology, maintaining that she sticks to a balanced vegan “lifestyle”.
“I just eat what works for my body,” she said.
“I’ve been spending a lot of time focusing on what my body tells me it likes. My body really loves sautéed spinach, so I have a lot of steamed spinach in my life. Greens are really important, and I just eat what I need.”
That said, she was quick to add that she doesn’t have a purist mindset when it comes to healthy eating.
“Sometimes I have sweets!”
No surprises there, Cheryl.
“It’s everything in moderation. I think it’s so important to treat yourself and take care of yourself, and balance.”
She also explained that she doesn’t count calories, as she’d prefer to avoid the added stress. Well, we might not all be 24-year-old a-listers boasting sponsorship deals or Met Gala appearances, but surely we can all relate to that.
