Impossible Meat is Coming to Starbucks in Singapore

Popular coffee chain Starbucks is providing a new option for vegans and vegetarians in their Singapore locations. The brand recently announced two new menu items, both of which make use of meat-free brand Impossible Foods. The new additions are a part of Starbucks’ global sustainability commitment.

The Impossible Pasta Bowl features Impossible meatballs, in addition to a variety of vegetables: broccoli, French beans, cherry tomatoes, and baby corn. The fusilli pasta-based dish is topped with a sesame soy dressing.

Another new menu item is the Impossible Pie. Though not vegan, this pie is vegetarian. Wrapped in a butter-based pastry, it is filled with Impossible ground meat, pickles, tomato sauce, and real cheese.

The general manager of Starbucks Singapore, Patrick Kwok, says the decision was prompted by the growing number of people choosing meatless options. “We know our customers are increasingly interested in plant-based food and beverage choices, and we’re excited to bring these innovative new additions to our menu,” he said. “In addition to our two plant-based core food items, we are looking forward to expanding our beverage menu with plant-based options in the coming months as well.”

In January, Starbucks announced its sustainability commitment, which will include increasing plant-based options at its locations worldwide.
