Famous vegan beauty brands that you should know about
The growing vegan trend is impacting more than just food. As more consumers become conscious of their purchases, a growing demand for natural beauty products has pushed brands to think outside the box. In fact, ReportLinker reports that the global market for vegan cosmetics is expected to track $21.4 billion by 2027. More vegan cosmetic brands have since been gradually emerging on the market, with French cult favorite skincare brand Typology introducing its minimalistic vegan beauty brand in the states in 2021.
Just like Typology, there are many other established and famous brands in the market known for having an array of quality vegan beauty products. In this article, we go through a few of our favorites.
Rare Beauty

Singer and actor Selena Gomez launched her PETA-approved cruelty-free makeup line, Rare Beauty, in 2020 with promises of it being an entirely vegan brand. In an interview with Elle, Gomez explained that she created her vegan and cruelty-free brand to help people embrace their natural beauty.
True to her word, Gomez has continued to release innovative makeup tools and products with completely vegan formulas, growing her makeup line into one of the best-selling brands offering soft, natural makeup results. In Spring 2022, Rare Beauty launched a setting powder, which was the most requested product by customers, alongside a few new shades of the Soft Pinch Blush and a bronzer stick.
Anastasia Beverly Hills

Anastasia Soare left Romania for the United States in 1989. Working as an aesthetician in Los Angeles, she soon developed a signature brow-shaping technique that improved her clients’ overall appearance. This discovery marked the beginning of the empire now known as Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH).
Today, ABH is a cruelty-free brand. While they still carry makeup brushes made with animal hair, their vegan range is continuously expanding. Many of your high-performing ABH favourites are already vegan. The ABH Lip Gloss uses an all-vegan formula and comes in 30 shades ranging from hues of reds and pinks to browns and golds. Meanwhile, their vegan complexion makeup products include their Hydrating Oils, Luminous Foundations, Magic Touch Concealers, and more. All these items are clearly marked vegan on their website, so you can find them easily.
Kylie Cosmetics

Keeping up with the Kardashians star Kylie Jenner launched her popular cruelty-free cosmetics line, Kylie Lip Kits, in 2015. It later rebranded to Kylie Cosmetics after the liquid lipstick and lip liner set launched the brand into the spotlight.
While Kylie Cosmetics is owned by Coty, Inc., a parent company that is not cruelty-free, Kylie Cosmetics offers several vegan products. In 2021, Jenner relaunched the Kylie Cosmetics brand with new vegan and gluten-free formula, which includes 32 ‘refreshed and reformulated’ matte singles and 37 matte lip kits. In 2022, the brand announced that the entire range would no longer be made with animal-derived ingredients.
Velour Beauty

Velour has been the lash game-changer in luxurious, handmade false lashes since 2011, with many top Hollywood celebrities like Beyonce, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Alba falling in love with the brand. In 2020, Velour gave fans only more reason to love their lashes after they announced that they would ‘transition into being a 100% mink-free brand’ by 2021.
Velour has since confirmed that all of its products are now vegan and don’t contain any animal-derived ingredients or by-products. Instead, each pair of their Vegan Luxe Lashes are handmade with the highest-quality synthetic fibres to mimic the look and feel of mink.
