Dr. Praeger launches vegan turkey burger

Dr. Praeger’s Purely Sensible Foods, who has been making frozen, plant-based meals for around 25 years, recently launched its new vegan turkey burger. The Perfect Turk’y Burger is marketed as being the first plant-based turkey burger to taste like the real thing.

Since 1994, Dr. Praeger’s has been working to bring healthy but delicious frozen food to consumers. Founded by two heart doctors, the company’s goal has always been to encourage sensible eating. Now, with the Perfect Turk’y Burger, the brand continues to encourage the population to ditch meat and opt for plant-based alternatives. Despite the company producing non-vegan foods, Dr. Praeger’s Pure Plant Protein has become a favorite among vegans.

Now, the Perfect Turk’y Burger follows in the footsteps of Dr. Praeger’s Perfect Burger, which was released in 2019. Both burgers contain 20 grams of “pure plant” protein and include vegetables in their list of ingredients. Specifically, the Perfect Turk’y Burger contains carrots, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash.

Dr. Praeger’s assures consumers that this new plant-based patty is soy-free, gluten-free, and Non-GMO Project verified. The Perfect Turk’y Burger gets its protein from pea protein.

The new product can be found at Kroger, Wegmans, Stop & Shop, and ShopRite, among other stores, in addition to online retailers.
