David Attenborough’s new documentary urges people to go plant-based to help save the planet
Presenter David Attenborough has been working on a new documentary A Life On Our Planet which examines the climate crisis and how dietary changes can help.
Attenborough is urging the public to replace meat with vegan alternatives to save the planet by curbing greenhouse gas emissions.
The 94 year old historian told the Mirror: “We must change our diet. The planet can’t support billions of meat-eaters.
“If we had a mostly plant-based diet we could increase the yield of the land. We have an urgent need for free land… Nature is our biggest ally.”
In the trailer for A Life On Our Planet, Sir David states: “I am David Attenborough, and I am 93. I’ve had the most extraordinary life. It is only now that I appreciate how extraordinary,”
“The living world is a unique and spectacular marvel, yet the way we humans live on earth is sending it into a decline. Human beings have overrun the world. We’re replacing the wild with the tame. This film is my witness statement and my vision of the future.
“Our planet is headed for disaster. We need to learn how to work with nature rather than against it and I’m going to tell you how.”
The film premieres on the 28th of September in UK cinemas for one night only.
