Carl’s Jr. to celebrate Earth day by going meatless for the day

Yvonne O'Halloran

On April 22, Carl’s Jr., a popular fast food chain, will be making one of its locations completely meat-free in honor of Earth Day. The meatless options will be available from 6am to 9pm, or while supplies last, at the Glendale, CA location.

Carl’s Jr. isn’t just going meat-free that day: that particular location will be giving away complimentary Beyond Meat items to customers. There is a limit of four per customer.

Of course, the fast food establishment knows that not everyone can access this one Los Angeles-area location. As a result, Carl’s Jr. will also be offering discounts for those choosing a meatless option. At any location in the United States, customers will be able to purchase a Beyond Burger for $5 with a coupon.

Carl’s Jr. and Beyond Meat initially partnered in 2019, launching the Beyond Famous Star across the United States. Though the burger comes with cheese and mayonnaise, it can easily be made vegan by omitting the two animal-based ingredients. Since then, the partnership has also expanded to the brand’s Canadian locations.

The meat-free options are popular at Carl’s Jr.: so far, almost 12 million Beyond Famous Star burgers have been sold.
