Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has partnered up with best friend Katherine Power, the co-founder of online fashion website Who, What, Wear, to launch two vegan wines – one white and one rosé.

The brand will be called Avaline and its wines will be completely free of chemicals, sweeteners, colours, and animal derivatives and will cost $24 per bottle.

In an Instagram video, Diaz explained that the duo decided to create Avaline after learning about the production of commercial wine, which often contains pesticides and animal-derivatives.

She stated, “we were like, wait a second, what do you mean they can add chemicals, sweeteners, colours and all these additives into wine and we had no idea about it.”

Its press release states: “Launching with a white and rosé, the wines are clean, delicious, vegan-friendly, made with organic grapes and free of unnecessary additives. With ingredient transparency on each label, Avaline aims to set a new standard for the wine industry.”
