Ben & Jerry’s to offer free vegan ice cream for one day only
International ice-cream giant Ben & Jerry’s will be offering up free vegan scoops this April 9 as part of its annual Free Cone Day.
According to the brand, the special day, which is exactly what it sounds like, is part of a long-standing tradition.
The event Facebook page reads: “Since 1979, it’s our way to celebrate and say thanks to our awesome fans for another year of support, and we’ve kept it up every year since, spreading the peace, love and FREE ice cream around the world!”
“Enough with the sentimentality,” you might say. “Where’s the ice cream?”

Fair enough. Those looking to take advantage of the deal — because it doesn’t get cheaper than free — can find a full list of participating scoop shops, along with their hours of participation here.
Ben & Jerry’s currently offers 11 non-dairy flavors. A full list of said flavors is available for you to drool over here.
“But are the cones vegan?” you may ask.
Good question, hypothetical reader. A statement from Ben & Jerry’s follows.
“Our sugar and cake cones are non-dairy and do not contain animal product, but they are not certified vegan.”
There you have it.
