Sainsbury’s debuts new ‘meaty’ vegan sausages

UK grocery chain Sainsbury’s has debuted made-to-seem-real vegan sausages from meat-alternative brand The Meatless Farm Co.

The sausages, which are apparently the product of popular demand, are made from ingredients like peas, soy, rice protein and chicory root. They’re also advertised as a good source of both fibre and protein, and happen to be gluten-free.

Sainsbury's Sign

According to The Meatless Farm Co, the new product is “perfect for a fry up”, also known as (hangover) breakfast, or “bangers and mash”, which despite sounding like the title of an indie punk album, is actually a staple dish of sausages, mashed potatoes and gravy.

You can now find them at select Sainsbury’s locations, where they’re priced at £2.50 per six pack.
