A rescue organisation called No Dogs Left Behind who runs a shelter in Beijing rescuedo 52 dogs from a barbaric death. It was reported that each dog rescued cost between $2,000 and $7,000. The organisation has saved many animals by rescuing them from wet markets, slaughterhouses, traffickers and illegal breeders.

The dogs landed in NYC from Beijing Friday morning at JFK airport where some of the dogs new owners were ready to meet them.

Jeffery Beri told WABC: “What these dogs have been through is incredible, they’re resilient.”

“They’re incredible and they’re just waiting for their families, the families that have been waiting for them for almost a year now for them to come home”.
