Sophie’s Kitchen to debut vegan crab cakes and shrimp at select Walmarts
Sophie’s Kitchen, a leader in plant-based alternatives, has debuted their high-selling vegan crab cakes and vegan breaded shrimp at select Walmarts in the United States. 400 locations will now carry the plant-based fish, which is found in the frozen food section.
Since its launch in 2010, Sophie’s Kitchen has become a pioneer in the plant-based seafood realm. The recent Walmart debut comes at the perfect time, as more people are turning away from eating “real” fish and looking for alternatives. The brand is perhaps best known for its Vegan Sea Salt Toona, and now they are making their products – and vegan food in general – more accessible than ever.
Both the crab cakes and the breaded shrimp are GMO-free, soy-free, and gluten-free. The low-calorie, high-fiber dishes also contain no lab-grown ingredients, colors, fillers, or added sugar, making them a healthy and sustainable seafood alternative.
Miles Woodruff, CEO of Sophie’s Kitchen, expressed his excitement over the Walmart partnership. “As the plant-based movement continues to grow, we’re hopeful that meatless alternatives become easier to find at affordable prices,” he said. “Our crab cakes and breaded shrimp are two of our top selling products and we’re thrilled to see them enter Walmart’s frozen section.”
In addition to its plant-based crab cakes, shrimp, and tuna, Sophie’s Kitchen also offers vegan fish filets and smoked salmon.
