Lizzo announces she’s vegan to her 8.7 million TikTok followers

American singer Lizzo has announced that she’s vegan.

The Grammy Award winner broke the news on social media platform TikTok, sharing a vegan cheesy egg scramble recipe with her 8.7 million followers and telling them that, “being plant-based and vegan has been pretty easy except for when I am hungover, I used to crave cheesy eggs. So here is my substitute for cravings when you’re hungover.”

Her recipe uses the mung bean-based egg substitute JUST Egg, vegan carne asada, vegan pepper jack cheese, and black bean corn.

She also rustled up some vegan bacon to go on the side. Explaining her method, she stated “now here’s a secret about vegan bacon. I like to cook it in maple syrup so it gets nice and crunchy and candied.”

This isn’t the only vegan recipe that Lizzo has shared, since April she’s been using TikTok to treat fans to a variety of vegan culinary creations including a spicy vegan chicken sandwich, a Jamaican spiced vegan beef patty, vegan fried chicken, and vegan ice cream French toast.

Who else is now hoping Lizzo will add a cookbook to her list of achievements…?
