1 in 5 Brits will serve a fully vegan Christmas dinner this year

Yvonne O'Halloran

In a recent survey conduced by Applewood, it has been revealed that 1 in 5 Brits will be serving a completely plant-based dinner on Christmas Day, even if not all of the guests are vegan.

The makers of the popular vegan ‘Applewood Smokey Cheese Alternative’ also found that 74% of participants said that they are ‘looking to buy plant-based alternatives to cheese’ to create a vegan friendly festive cheese board.

Lisa Harrison, Senior Brand Manager for Applewood Vegan has stated: “Research shows that vegans and vegetarians look set to make up a quarter of the British population in 2025, and eating a vegan diet could be the ‘single biggest way’ to reduce our environmental impact on Earth.”

“We were surprised by our survey results that show people are increasingly willing to forgo their traditional Christmas foodie treats for healthier alternatives even when it makes cooking vegan for the whole family.”
