On May 22nd- Biodiversity Day, Greta Thunberg released a short film on her social media to stress the importance of protecting animals and nature to help us fight the global ecological crisis.

She stated on her Instagram video:

“Our relationship with nature is broken. But relationships can change. When we protect nature- we are nature protecting itself.”

She further highlighted that the next pandemic could be much worse and that 75% of diseases comes from other animals. She goes on to say that 85% of the world’s agricultural land is used to feed livestock, but it only provides us with 18% of our calories.

The short film clocked up over 100,000 views in just four hours. The teen went on to say: ‘We can change’. This will be achieved by changing the way we farm, changing what we eat, and changing how we treat nature.”
