ASDA adds totally vegan aisle to hundreds of supermarkets in the UK

Grocery giant ASDA has become the first supermarket in the UK to implement a 100% vegan aisle in its stores, making it easier than ever for plant-based shoppers to find everything in one place.

Shoppers can now go straight to the vegan aisle in 359 ASDA stores, rather than trying to navigate the wealth of food products lining the shelves to find those suitable for vegans.

There will be two bays in each store dedicated entirely to stocking vegan proteins, snacks and cooking sauces.

Asda’s buying manager, Sarah Thornewill, told  The Grocer : “We understand that customers want a quick and simple shopping experience, and this shouldn’t be restricted by dietary requirements.

“By merchandising all our vegan items together, we hope to save customers time and offer inspiration, whether for those following a plant-based diet, or those looking to reduce their meat consumption.”

This move will not only make shopping more seamless for vegans, but will also help those wanting to transition to a vegan lifestyle or try out a plant-based diet access the food items more easily.
