Boost Your Self-Confidence to Improve Your Life

Yvonne O'Halloran

With a healthy level of self-confidence, you can live your best life. You’ll feel like you can conquer any task at hand. Moreover, with a self-esteem boost, you’ll be able to meet new friends or start a new relationship, among other feats. And some methods for self-improvement are simple to incorporate into your vegan lifestyle.

Eat Healthier

As a vegan, you’ve already taken a major step toward improving your health (not to mention that of the planet). Of course, almost everyone can make changes to enhance their eating habits, and vegans are no exception.

For instance, if you’ve been feeling a little down lately, try adding more vitamin D-rich foods to your diet to improve your mood and emotional well-being. Sun exposed mushrooms, fortified tofu, and fortified juice and plant-based milks are all good sources of this nutrient. Don’t forget to enjoy some sunshine for a while each day as well, since you absorb vitamin D through natural light exposure.

On the other hand, if you’ve been feeling sluggish, upping your intake of vitamin B12 could be the key. B12-rich plant-based favorites include tempeh, cremini mushrooms, fortified plant-based milks & faux meats and nutritional yeast.

Laugh More

Have you ever heard the expression, “Laughter is the best medicine?” It may hold true in this case. When you laugh more, you decrease stress. Specifically, when you laugh, your body releases feel-good hormones, which are known as endorphins. So schedule more time with friends to benefit from laughing more.

Create a Calming Space

You can build confidence by taking on a space-changing DIY project yourself, but the real benefit of it is to create a room to escape to when you’re stressed.

As you’re decorating your space, think neutral, calm colours. Additionally, consider what you plan to do most in the room. For instance, if you’re going to meditate or do yoga, situate mats on the floor. On the other hand, you could create a reading area by placing a daybed  in the room.

Consider Making a Career Change

It may be time to make a career change if any of the following applies to you:

  • Your co-workers and boss don’t recognize your worth
  • You don’t feel challenged anymore
  • You don’t make enough money
  • You have no room for growth

As you’re making a change, think about other careers you can do with your degree, experience, and skills. If you’re unsure what to do, consider going back to school. Take some time to research what careers are most in need in the UK.

Not only can a new career change your life, but you can build confidence as you learn and complete your education.

Make the Most of Your Money

When you can save your money for a rainy day, you can boost your mood and confidence. However, with the pandemic hitting the UK hard, you may have had to dip into savings or are now worried about finances.

Try finding ways to save money to help with your stress, such as reducing your spending. For instance, you could make homemade vegan meals rather than buying prepared dishes.

Also, think about refinancing your home to decrease your monthly payments and free up some cash in the meantime.

Live With More Confidence

Boost your self-esteem while continuing to live your vegan lifestyle by better managing your money, living a healthy lifestyle, and relaxing more.
